The 1960’s and 70’s saw a substantial redevelopment of Burnley, particularly in the town centre, and this set of photographs shows some of the scenes and buildings which disappeared during this period. The original photographs were taken by W. J. “Bill” Green using slides, and whilst the passage of time and the storage conditions have resulted in some deterioration, it is felt that the historic value and interest of these pictures justifies the creation of this website.
